Iris Theatre
I was workshop manager and lead carpenter for two summer seasons of Shakespeare at Iris Theatre - an award winning theatre company then based at The Actors' Church (St Paul's Covent Garden).
The first year's set was built entirely on site, and the second at our Fuzzy Goat workshop in Egham. Production design by Mike Leopold.

The Rascally Diner
Inspired by award-winning children's book The Rascally Cake, LAS Theatre's glorious show featured giant puppets, imaginary gadgets and culinary mayhem, all folded up into a touring caravan which transformed into an outdoor stage.
I was lead carpenter on this project, working with the company to convert the caravan and integrate the puppets and effects. I also built several of the larger props.

The Importance of Being... Earnest?
I designed this touring set in collaboration with Trynity Silk and company members of Say It Again, Sorry? and built it for their show ...Earnest?

Chaplin: Birth of a Tramp
Charlotte Cooke designed this set for Chaplin: Birth of a Tramp, presented by Arrows and Traps at the Brockley Jack. This was a fun little build with some interesting finishing work - aging the timbers of the wooden shack and creating the stone/concrete texture for the railing.

Santa's Grotto
Santa's house for a Christmas walk-through experience at the Strand Palace Hotel. This set was installed as a bare unit ready for the decor crew to install their bells, whistles and candy canes.

Writing Wrongs
Writing Wrongs was a community writing project curated by Donmar Warehouse Theatre as part of Ai WeiWei's Fly The Flag project celebrating the 71st anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The brief was a small, portable stage that could be set up in public spaces and packed down again quickly and with minimal tools.

Tempo - Escape Rooms
Converted Bath's old Temperance Hall into two escape rooms. I took this project from the back-of-a-fag-packet stage to complete realisation of stage one (a fully finished, open business with one escape room) and about 50% of the way through stage two (a second, larger room) before the project was unfortunately put on ice.

Escape The Scaffold
I built and production managed this near-future political thriller for Theatre 503 and Theatr Clwyd. Bringing this technically and aesthetically complex show to life in such a tiny space was a challenging process.

Strindberg's Women: The Stronger and Storm
Emma Dymott designed this set for director Jake Murray's double bill of lesser-known plays by August Strindberg.
There isn't a lot of space for scenery in the Jermyn Street Theatre, so the main features of this build were faux-oak panelling for the walls, and a floor which transitioned from stained floorboards to an outdoor paving effect made from MDF.

Ready, Steady, GO!
Verity Quinn designed this set for Polka Theatre's production Ready, Steady, GO! Verity wanted the set to look shabby and second hand, so I built it using as many reclaimed materials as possible.

We're Staying Right Here
Elizabeth Wright designed this set for Metal Rabbit's production We're Staying RIght Here at the Park Theatre
